I have been in business most of my life.  I’ve both witnessed and experienced the struggles that entrepreneurs and small business owners go through.  I know that being an entrepreneur requires an intense amount of passion, a strong will to persevere and a willingness to take risks that often goes beyond reason.  

In a previous business, I was “fortunate” enough to suffer the ever-dreaded burnout of an entrepreneur.  This led me to make several life changes— the first few being to have more fun, to get some much-needed sleep and to spend more time with my family.  I was lucky enough to take some time to figure out what made me happy and what I really wanted out of life.  I learned a lot about myself…or should say, I accepted a lot about myself…..during that time and it changed my life.

But, if you’re like me, you know that the entrepreneurial drive doesn’t rest for long.  It’s constantly asking “what’s next? or ”what adventure can we try now?!”  

I’ve always been a fan of crazy redheads – Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Pippy Long Stockings— just to name a few.  So, of course, it was a crazy redhead that brought the answer to that ever-persistent question.  

I was in the market for an office to see my business coaching clients but didn’t really need a full-time space, as many of my clients’ sessions were done by phone.  I put out a call on Facebook to see if anyone was interested in sharing an office and got a message from someone I had only met once at a networking event.

We got together, hit it off, and went to check out an office space that was available.  Everything, including the hideous wall colors, told us to walk away, but our guts told us it was the right place—so we said yes!  We have not stopped trusting our gut since that day 😉   


It was the best decision we could have made
and we quickly discovered that our two personalities worked really well together—It’s actually kind of freaky how well. Sometimes we don’t even have to talk to know what the other person is thinking or feeling.  It makes for a very efficient business partnership… plus, it’s fun! Our friendship has been a big part of what has helped us grow as a company….from our original 3 room office to our current 5 locations, with loads of services and resources.

In Nicole’s last blog she mentioned that people ask “what the crazy ingredients to our secret sauce are” and to be honest, for us, it comes down to four simple things:  

  1.  Listen to what people need.  
  2.  Never say “No.”  
  3. Trust your gut.  
  4.  If you’re not having fun, something needs to change.
